Lately I’ve been on a baking kick, and yesterday my daughter and I made the best double chocolate chip cookies. I found the recipe on Sally’s Baking Addiction (a personal fave) and I’m almost scared of how easy and delicious they were… because I can already tell I’m about to enter a full-blown food fixation. Here’s the recipe if you want to spiral with me: Sally’s Favorite Double Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I baked them with my 5-year-old, which made the whole thing even sweeter. I came across one of those mom guilt-trip posts recently that said, “There won’t always be little hands wanting to help you in the kitchen.” And honestly? That hit me right in the gut. So I grabbed the flour, pulled out the chocolate chips, and invited my forever baking partner in crime to the kitchen. She loves being on mixer duty and recently started cracking the eggs. Seeing how much she loves to help makes my heart melt.

After the kitchen quieted down and the cookies cooled, I even snuck in about ten minutes of crochet. Ten whole minutes! It doesn’t sound like much, but in this season of life it feels like a tiny luxury. A little pocket of calm squeezed into the constant hum of mom life.
It reminded me how many small blessings drift through our days without us even noticing. Warm cookies. Sticky little hands. Ten quiet minutes with a crochet hook. All of it matters.
Signing off for now — cookies eaten, heart full. 💛
